The General Amos Shepard Room  

Named for the man who built this home in the 1790's as a tavern, the General Amos Shepard room offers a queen bed and private bath. As the most prominent citizen in Alstead from 1777 until his death in 1812, Amos Shepard was an innkeeper, established a chain of stores in Southern New Hampshire, owned a woodworking shop, and was president of the New Hampshire Senate for seven years. The Thankful Shepard Room  

Wife of General Shepard, Thankful Shepard moved to Alstead with her husband from Connecticut in 1777. The Thankful Shepard room offers a queen bed and private bath. Rate for double occupancy, including breakfast: $120/night.

 

 
 
The Allison Room  

The Allison family owned this home for over fifty years starting in the mid 1920's. It was used primarily as their summer home and afforded much happiness. Dr. Allison was a noted collector of ferns, and several rare specimens of his collection have been preserved by various horticultural and education institutions. The Allison room offers a twin bed and private bath with a claw foot tub. Rate for single occupancy, including breakfast: $85/night.
